Hi, my name is Doul Chea, and I live in Ktouy 3 village. I live with my 2 children who are still in school. Because of this, my wife and I are the main breadwinners for the family. We work in the rubber fields, and to earn some extra income to suppor tour children we are raising pigs at home.

As the income we earn is not enough to support our family, a few years ago in order to improve our situation, we withdrew some money from our savings so that we could start farming pigs for profit. As I learn to raise pigs sustainably, I raise the pigs seasonally to keep them healthy and make sure they get enough water.

Our income is limited, and we’re often unable to afford proper medical supplies, stationery for my children, debt repayments and food for our family. We also live in a small, old house that often floods. When it rains or is windy my husband and I worry about our house an dpaying for repairs, so this program helps us ease our worry.

In the future I would like to build up my pig farming business, and develop it into a successful, sustainable micro-enterprise. With more funding and the appropriate training I can do this. My pig farming business will help me generate more income which will allow me to support my children’s education, provide better quality food and water to my family, and improve our standard of living as a whole.
